Security in our area.

Firefighters are exempt to this explanation due to this simple reason. We live in a highland plain/desert, we are in a major drought, its normally windy in delta ,and most of the properties and businesses here are farms. Even a small fire can destroy the city and county if it gets out of control.

I fully believe in the second amendment. With that being said I believe that police should protect our public roads, and businesses. The second amendment is for the protection of ourselves as well as our homes. This can be verified by 2016 Colorado Revised Statutes Title 18 - Criminal Code Article 1 - Provisions Applicable to Offenses Generally Part 7 - Justification and Exemptions From Criminal Responsibility § 18-1-704.5. Use of deadly physical force against an intruder. "The general assembly hereby recognizes that the citizens of Colorado have a right to expect absolute safety within their own homes."

With this being said standard cops should not go into houses. Only SWAT directed by a judge, sheriff and DA is allowed to enter a home. They must have a warrant and a major criminal activity.

For example: If a person is cooking meth to sell on the street, no action. While meth is illegal to make and distribute, its not a dangerous crime. Murder, rape, kidnapping is a dangerous crime.

In short: Your home is your property its your duty to protect it from intruders not the government.
